Daniel graduated from the University of Adelaide and completed his internship and physician training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
He was awarded a Mark Jolly Travelling Fellowship and a Lions Heart Foundation Overseas Clinical Fellowship to work at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK to further his interest in cardiac electrophysiology. He was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1995 and his Fellowship of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand in 2004.
Daniel returned to Adelaide to commence practice at Adelaide Cardiology and was subsequently appointed as a Senior Visiting Cardiologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
In 2008 Daniel left the Royal Adelaide to concentrate his efforts on the development of Adelaide Cardiology and subsequently GenesisCare and he has been the Chairman of the Clinical Management Committee of Adelaide Cardiology since 2005 and the Chairman of GenesisCare's Clinical Leaders Forum since 2009.
During his training and medical career Daniel has been involved in medical research, and has been awarded grants from the National Heart Foundation and continues his involvement in clinically based cardiac research at St Andrew's Hospital.
He has an active interest in teaching medical practitioners, medical students and other medical professionals and is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide and a Senior Lecturer at Flinders University.
Daniel's particular area of interest in cardiology is disturbances of the electrical system of the heart and device implantation. He performs implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators at St Andrew's Hospital and consults at multiple sites including the St Andrew's Medical Centre and our Leabrook, Modbury, Angaston, Murray Bridge and Wallaroo clinics.
