Dana is a Clinical Psychologist who has spent much of her professional career working with a varied range of clients in private practice. She has experience in assessing and treating trauma responses, with specialist training regarding working with survivors of sexual assault and family violence. Dana assists adults to overcome a range of mental health issues including anxiety and mood disorders, with her therapeutic approach incorporating a range of evidenced-based techniques such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dana has a particular interest in treating obsessive compulsive disorder and panic attacks, having previously conducted extensive research with regard to panic disorder.
Dana has a background as a School Psychologist, with her experience working within this capacity having fostered a keen interest in treating adolescent mental health issues. She also has a passion for conducting medico-legal and forensic assessments, including family assessments for Child Protection Services, the Family Law Court and Victims of Crime. She has previously been approached to provide expert opinion in this regard.
With a young family of her own, Dana has broadened her clinical focus to include assessing and treating perinatal mental health issues. She has undergone specific training with regard to perinatal anxiety and depression, along with infant and adult attachment. Dana has completed the necessary training in order to be able to offer psychological services under the Pregnancy Support Medicare items.
Dana is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and the APS Clinical College. She is approved by the Psychology Board of Australia to supervise psychological registrars seeking generalist registration, as well as interns seeking specialist clinical endorsement.
