Cassie is a General Practitioner focused on the health and wellbeing of women of all ages and all walks of life. She believes in patient-centred, individualised, holistic healthcare. Cassie cares for the full breath of women's health concerns; issues such as period problems, sexual health checks, skin concerns, pre-conceptual care and counselling, cervical screening as well as difficulties arising in the menopausal years and beyond. Cassie continually builds her expertise through a strong ethos for ongoing clinical education.
Cassie earned a Bachelor of Medicine with Distinction from the University of Newcastle in 2013; and went on to Fellow with the RACGP. She holds additional qualifications in both Women’s Health and Family Planning, including the RANZCOG Certificate of Women’s Health and the FPAA National Certificate of Sexual Reproductive Health (theory) with Family Planning Victoria.
Dr Wedgwood has been primarily based in rural and regional Far North QLD, prior to settling in Tasmania. This work allowed her to connect with women who were often unable to access dedicated women's health services in their communities. Like all busy working mums, she also understands that the needs of their families often get prioritised over their own.
Most recently she had been travelling Australia with her young family, working in rural and remote areas along the way. Cassie’s interests outside of medicine are varied, but she currently prioritises staying active for physical and mental wellbeing, and spending time with her family. She looks forward to meeting with you soon for all your women's health care needs.
