Dr. Jane Read has 9 years’ experience working in general practice, predominantly on the Northern Beaches. Jane is a member of the RACGP and enjoys the unique opportunity in general practice to establish long term relationships with patients and their families. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, and has a particular interest in women, children and adolescent health, psychological medicine and chronic disease management. Jane enjoys helping women through all stages of life, including contraception, pregnancy, menopause and beyond. She is a registered antenatal shared-care GP. Prior to medicine Jane gained a master’s in nutrition and went on to complete a PhD in nutrition in oncology. She has published articles in peer reviewed journals and textbooks. She is able to do minor procedures such as skin biopsies, excisions and Implanon insertions. Jane has a holistic approach to her patient care and has a passion for lifestyle medicine and how it benefits her patients. She enjoys helping people make sustainable lifestyle changes to improve their long-term health, address weight concerns and overall wellbeing.
