Dr. Luke Mcghee is a Queensland old boy, gaining his experience in the oncology field as a junior doctor in Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns and the Sunshine Coast. Loving the lifestyle and looking for a home for his family, Dr McGhee made the permanent move to Cairns in 2013. Since then, Dr McGhee has worked at the Cairns Hospital and Radiation Oncology Queensland. Always looking for new ways to provide patients with timely, effective care and advice, Dr McGhee joined Response Oncology to focus on skin and prostate cancers. Response Oncology’s focus on team based care, enables him to work closely with his colleagues and the Urologists at Northern Urology. Through these interactions, he’s further developed his skill sets and is able to share essential diagnosis and treatment options with his fellow specialists in the area of prostate cancer. Following the completion of his education in South East Queensland, Dr McGhee accepted an appointment at the Liz Plummer Cancer Centre, Cairns Hospital as a Consulting Oncologist. In this role, Dr McGhee provides specialist diagnostic services, care and treatment options to patients presenting with highly varying conditions and needs. Through his expertise and personable approach, Dr McGhee is able to provide patients with information and advice which is coached in everyday, real world language so they are able to understand exactly what their conditions entails and what options are available.
